The problem with owning most of the Region 3 releases is that when the US version comes out, I'm not exactly lining up to buy these movies again. However, when the US releases are reasonably priced or comes in a nice boxset, if it's within my budget, I'll buy it.
This Shaw Brothers Collection boxset came out in 2009, was a nice addition to my collection. The box contains four movies: The Heroic Ones, The Battle Wizard, The Duel of the Century, and Two Champions of Shaolin. I am assuming the content of each movie is exactly the same as their "single" releases (same artwork and DVD content, except the spine is shrunk to fit the slim DVD cases). Speaking of which, it's nice is that they used the "slim" DVD cases, which saves space by half its regular DVD case. If you own a lot of movies, you'll appreciate the smaller packaging. The exterior box is cardstock; it's thick and sturdy. Not a bad packaging, I think I paid about $30 for the boxset, making it about $7.50 per movie, even though you get two duds (Battle Wizard and Duel of the Century). |
